Apprenticeship – Industrial Mechanic, Starting Summer 2027

As an industrial mechanic (m/f/x) you manufacture and assemble components and assemblies, maintain and repair devices, machines and systems, monitor production processes and instruct colleagues or customers in using the equipment. Training lasts 3.5 years, starting August 2027, vocational school in Jena.

• Instructing colleagues or customers in operating and handling assembly and testing work after successful completion
• Working in the production of machines and precision devices and making components from metal and plastic
• Getting familiar with techniques such as turning, milling, drilling, grinding and various joining techniques as well as assembling and adjusting components
• Setting up workstations, organizing production processes and checking them in line with quality management systems
• First contact with the latest technologies such as networked machine systems and robotics
• Carrying out maintenance and inspections and checking mechanical components

• A good lower secondary, intermediate or higher school qualification
• Good grades in mathematics, physics and technology
• Interest in technical processes and devices as well as manual skill
• Spatial and analytical thinking and interest in precise work
• A high level of commitment and self-motivation
• Teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills
