- Theory and practice – together with the DHGE we combine this perfect duo in our dual study programs. The "Practical Computer Science" program, leading to a Bachelor of Engineering, is oriented towards current and future requirements of the IT industry. During your studies you will develop a solid information technology base, methodological competence and a deep understanding of modern software and IT systems. This will make you a sought-after junior specialist in various departments at our company. You can individually align your technical focus with us – depending on interests and strengths – for example in the direction of
- Application development or
- Information and communication technologies.

- Become part of dynamic teams and actively contribute to digitalization at ZEISS
- Participate in the development, adaptation and maintenance of software solutions and IT systems
- Design, implement and further develop applications, tools and systems
- Gain insights into various IT areas and apply your knowledge in real projects
- Acquire sound knowledge in programming, software engineering and IT systems
- Build foundations in mathematics and computer science
- Learn about topics such as databases, networks, IT security and operating systems
- Work on advanced content in application development or information and communication technologies depending on focus
- Learn interdisciplinary content such as project management, business administration and teamwork

What Carl Zeiss AG offers
- Completion of a dual study program in conjunction with the Dual University in Gera-Eisenach
- Training duration: 3 years (divided into practical and theoretical semesters) starting October 2027
