About this Apprenticeship
Formerly known as training in general, elderly and pediatric nursing. As a nursing professional, you independently support and care for people of all ages. The training lasts three years and combines theory and practice. You are mainly trained in an elderly care facility near you, and also work in outpatient care and inpatient facilities. In the last year you decide whether to continue with generalist training (degree Pflegefachmann/-frau) or specialize in elderly care (degree Altenpfleger:in).
Requirements
- empathetic, reliable, independent, team player
- interest in medical, nursing and social tasks
- intermediate school certificate (Realschulabschluss) or an equivalent completed 10-year school education, or
- Hauptschulabschluss with a completed 2-year vocational training, or
- Hauptschulabschluss and completed training as an elderly care or nursing assistant
