Apprenticeship as a Track Builder 2027

As a track builder apprentice, you work outdoors with your team on construction sites and help ensure that trains run safely and reliably.

• Working outdoors with the team on railway construction sites
• Laying new rails and points, inspecting them for damage and replacing damaged parts
• Renewing the ballast beneath the tracks with modern machines
• Checking measurements so trains can travel smoothly and safely
• Supporting reliable railway operations

• School completed or soon to be completed; school-leaving certificate recognized in Germany
• German language skills at least at B2 level
• Enjoyment of working outdoors rather than at a desk
• Motivation and reliability
• Enjoyment of teamwork and practical work
• Willingness to work at different locations, working hours and night shifts
