Dual Study Program in Civil Engineering with Apprenticeship as an Industrial Electrician 2027

A four-and-a-half-year dual study program leading to a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, combined with vocational training as an Industrial Electrician at DB Bahnbau Gruppe in Hanover. Theory takes place at Nuremberg University of Technology and at the training workshop and vocational school in Hanover; practical work takes place at the company and on construction sites in northern Germany. The program starts on 30 August 2027 with a one-month practical placement, followed by alternating training and studies.

During theory phases, study the basics of engineering as well as construction technology, geotechnics, hydraulic engineering, transport, business administration, law and project management, and take part in interdisciplinary study projects. During practical phases, learn about assembly and construction management, install and assemble overhead-line components, and contribute to planning, construction costing, work preparation and project management.

A-levels completed or an equivalent vocational qualification; eligibility requirements for enrollment at Nuremberg University of Technology; interest and good performance in mathematics and physics; teamwork and manual skills; willingness to work at changing locations and times, including night shifts; focused and independent working style.

Notebook for learning and private use; housing allowance of up to €400 per month if daily commuting would take more than 2.5 hours and a closer home is rented; offer of employment after successful completion.
