About this Apprenticeship
Deutsche Bahn AG - DB Gastronomie offers a three-year cook apprenticeship in Frankfurt am Main starting on 1 August 2027. You will train in a DB staff restaurant and attend Bergiusschule vocational school in Frankfurt am Main.
What You'll Learn
- You learn about buying, storing and checking the quality of food, as well as hygiene rules
- You learn different cutting techniques
- You prepare food and a range of dishes professionally for staff
- You have the opportunity to create your own recipes
- During your apprenticeship, you gain insight into the daily running of an à la carte restaurant
Requirements
- You have successfully finished, or will soon finish, school and your school qualification is recognised in Germany
- Your German is at least at B2 level
- You enjoy cooking and are interested in food
- You are well organised and enjoy working in a team
- You work carefully and responsibly
- A health certificate confirming food hygiene instruction under Section 43 of the German Infection Protection Act is helpful for the trial day.
What Deutsche Bahn AG offers

- If your daily commute from your previous home takes more than 2.5 hours and you rent a home closer to work, you receive a rent allowance of up to €400 per month.
- Depending on your training year, you receive between €1,324 and €1,531 per month plus a Christmas bonus. These pay amounts apply from 1 July 2026; the employment terms apply to the vast majority of apprentices in the DB Group.
- The DB Youngster Community offers workshops, events, group trips and more with other apprentices and dual study students.
- A dedicated contact person and a great team support you.
- You have very good prospects of continued employment after successfully completing your apprenticeship.
