About this Apprenticeship
Three year dual study program leading to a Bachelor of Engineering in civil engineering with Deutsche Bahn in Hannover. Classes take place at Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen in Gießen / Friedberg or HAWK-Hildesheim. Between teaching periods, you work at the company on rail infrastructure.
What You'll Learn
- Learn engineering basics, including mathematics, building physics and building materials.
- Gain broad knowledge of planning, designing, building and maintaining structures while taking ongoing railway operations into account.
- Gain a broad understanding of railways, rail infrastructure and asset management.
- Help with construction projects and learn about project management for planning, rebuilding, operating and maintaining the rail network, as well as construction supervision.
Requirements
- Have completed, or be about to complete, your school qualification for university entry, or hold a suitable vocational qualification. Applicants with vocational qualifications must meet the chosen university's entry requirements.
- Enjoy maths and physics and be good at computer science.
- Be interested in how technical systems and railway operations work.
- Communicate well and value teamwork.
- Work independently and stay focused on your goals.
- Take an aptitude assessment as part of the selection process.
