What Deutsche Bahn AG offers

• First, you learn the basics of mechanics and electronics
• You carry out maintenance and repairs on vehicles
• You use modern measuring and testing equipment to find faults
• As a mechatronics technician, you also test electrical, electronic and mechanical systems, everything that keeps a train running
• You learn about control systems in our vehicles, such as information displays and doors
• You receive a mobile device to support your training, which you can also use privately.
• You receive 16 free journeys within Germany each year and further travel discounts, such as the DB Job-Ticket for commuting. Discounted travel options are also available for family and friends.
• Support for settling into your new city: if commuting from your previous home would take more than 2.5 hours daily and you rent a closer home, you receive a rent subsidy of up to €400 per month.
• Pay of between €1,324 and €1,531 per month depending on the training year, plus a Christmas bonus. These pay rates apply from 1 July 2026. The employment terms apply to the vast majority of apprentices within the DB Group.
• Join other apprentices and dual students in the DB Youngster Community for workshops, events, community trips and more.
