Cloud Architect Focus Network

Deutsche WertpapierService Bank AG, with over 22 years of experience in securities business, is the leading provider of securities services in Germany. Using the WP3 system platform, it processes several million securities transactions annually for over 1,000 banks. More than 1,200 employees work at locations in Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, and Munich. The network infrastructure team of 5 ensures secure networks at the Eschborn and Düsseldorf sites through policies and compliance checks – both on-premises and in the cloud. As a Cloud Architect, you will design the network architecture of the future, bridging classic data center infrastructure and modern cloud platforms, with a high quality and security standard that goes far beyond mere compliance requirements.

Architecture Design: Develop future-proof network architectures for hybrid and cloud-based infrastructures, define strategic guardrails for implementation. Cloud Networking: Design virtual networks, routing concepts, firewalls, and secure connections between data centers, customers, partners, and cloud platforms. Governance & Standards: Define architecture guidelines, security policies, and technical standards; ensure compliance across all stakeholders. Security Architecture: Develop concepts for network segmentation, encryption, access controls, and secure cloud connections; assess new technologies for risks. Steering & Collaboration: Coordinate internal stakeholders, DevOps teams, and external service providers to ensure a shared understanding of architecture and security requirements. Transformation Support: Actively support the move to the cloud, linking proven network structures with modern cloud technologies into a consistent overall architecture.

Several years of experience as a Cloud Architect, Network Architect, Network Specialist, or comparable role with a focus on cloud and network infrastructures. Mastery of both classic network architectures and modern cloud networking concepts in hybrid environments. Experience with network and security architectures in public clouds (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Experience in regulated environments (financial/banking sector); security requirements, regulatory mandates, and risk-oriented architecture design are second nature. Comfortable interacting between business units, DevOps teams, and external providers/service providers, translating requirements into viable architecture concepts. Very good German skills (C1) and good English skills (B2).
