Embedded Software Developer

Our professional KIRA cleaning robots independently clean floors in large industrial areas and public spaces. We develop innovative, connected devices with complex software, sensors and hardware, and are looking for you at our site in Schwaikheim near Stuttgart.

• Independently develop embedded firmware for the KIRA control units, from driver layer to control loops, with real-time control of actuators and drives
• Program software components in the Linux main system that connect the control units to the overall application
• Commission new control units with the hardware team, establish failure management and analyze hardware-near errors down to register level
• Help shape the embedded toolchain, secure firmware with automated tests (CI/CD) and optimize runtime, memory use and energy consumption
• Keep maintaining the firmware after series launch, evaluate field feedback and implement improvements with production and quality assurance

• Successfully completed degree in computer science, electrical engineering, technical computer science or a comparable technical discipline
• Solid practical experience in embedded development with C and C++ on microcontrollers and/or embedded Linux, ideally in robotics or automotive
• Strong hands-on mentality and enthusiasm for hardware-near software
• Confident use of bus systems (CAN, UART, USB, Ethernet), RTOS concepts, interrupts and concurrency, plus practical knowledge of debugger, JTAG and oscilloscope
• Structured, quality-conscious and independent way of working with Git and CI/CD, and strong interface skills
