Intern Development Passenger Car/Van Combustion Engines, Team Powertrain (Mandatory Internship)

We in the area of basic engine development are responsible for the development and validation of the powertrain of all Mercedes-Benz combustion engines in passenger cars and vans including AMG. Our scope of tasks includes the development and optimization of rotating and oscillating powertrain components as well as their functionally adjacent components. These include in particular engine block, crankshaft, connecting rod, piston as well as other powertrain-relevant components. Another focus lies on mechanical validation through tests on components, systems and vehicles. For this demanding and exciting area of responsibility we are looking for you.

• Participation in the development and validation of engine components throughout the entire product creation process, from concept phase to series support
• Support in planning, execution and evaluation of tests on component, full engine test benches and vehicles
• Contribution to planning, parts provision and assembly of prototype engines
• Support in measurements, analyses and assessments of engine components and engine systems
• Documentation, preparation and presentation of test results
• Support of development engineers in department-specific tasks

• Degree program in mechanical engineering, vehicle engineering or a comparable field
• Secure German and English skills in word and writing
• Confident handling of MS Office
• Commitment and teamwork
• Analytical thinking as well as a structured and strategic way of working
• Enthusiasm for automotive technology, ideally complemented by practical experience in vehicle and engine technology
• Car driver's license
