Social Media & Video Content Creator - 40 hrs @ 42watt (by OBI)

You think about content across platforms and want to make the energy transition tangible for homeowners. The goal is the largest social media channel for renewable energy in the German-speaking region. 42watt has an established YouTube channel (~10k subs) and a small, hands-on team.

• Editorial & concept: together with our technical expert team you turn complex topics around heat pumps, renovation and the energy transition into finished formats end-to-end – from idea to script to final production.
• Format development: you develop your own format areas based on existing 42watt content and consistently expand them over time.
• Short form: native Reels, posts, carousels and Shorts for Instagram, Facebook & YouTube – plus repurposing our long-form videos. Goal: awareness and leads with our target group.
• Long form: you help produce our YouTube videos – from recording to editing.
• Data as a tool: you know platform analytics (e.g. reach, engagement and retention), develop formats further and contribute your own ideas. Numbers are not reporting for you, but the lever to get better.

• First work experience or your own projects in social media or video content – ideally you have already built channels or formats yourself.
• You think content end-to-end: from concept to finished format, short and long form. A portfolio or sample projects show what you can do.
• Editing is solid: we prefer DaVinci Resolve; Premiere or Final Cut are also welcome. You can do clean thumbnails, simple graphics and text overlays – complex motion design is a plus, not a must.
• You have a very good feel for German (min. C1). Tone is a key driver of impact with our audience.
• You work data-driven and pragmatically, test quickly and develop ideas for the target audience together with the team.
• You have a sense for audience, channels and formats: you understand what works on which channel, which format reaches whom, and keep improving content.
• The energy transition matters to you. You learn technical details about heat pumps, PV & co. with us – what matters is that you want to change something and explain topics simply and accessibly.
• Nice to have: you occasionally appear on camera yourself (we are happy to discuss) and use AI tools to produce faster and smarter – from idea to post-production.
