About this Apprenticeship
You will take a key role in building the future cloud and container platform of the Schüller Group. You will actively shape architecture decisions and create the technical foundations for running business-critical systems within an internationally active group of companies. The platform is under construction and offers exceptionally high technical freedom to design.
What You'll Learn
- Further development of the OpenStack-based private cloud platform
- Design, implementation and operation of Kubernetes clusters (K8s) and Kubernetes distributions such as K3s
- Development and implementation of automation and infrastructure concepts
- Planning and further development of high availability, backup and recovery solutions
- Design and further development of Linux-based platform services
- Working with infrastructure, network, software development and IT security
- Analysis and solution of complex technical issues in platform operations
Requirements
- Very good Linux knowledge and several years of experience running production Linux environments
- Experience with Kubernetes (K8s) or Kubernetes distributions such as K3s
- Experience with container technologies
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation solutions
- Good knowledge of networking, storage and high availability
- Very good German skills, spoken and written
- Structured and independent way of working
- Enjoyment in understanding complex technical relationships and developing sustainable solutions
- Experience with Ceph or Proxmox is an advantage
- Experience building or running data center or cloud infrastructures, as well as knowledge of monitoring, logging and IT security, is also an advantage
