Of the 25 staff in the Environmental Law and Trade Supervision department, six perform state tasks in nature conservation law. The aim is to protect nature and landscape and to preserve biological diversity and natural livelihoods. Nature conservation law safeguards and develops the functioning and performance of the natural household by preserving and restoring animals and plants, their habitats and communities, as well as the diversity, character, and beauty of nature and landscape.

What You'll Learn

Processing of complaints/environmental reports and applications for access to environmental information, as well as legal remedies, coercive measures, fine proceedings, and criminal suspicion cases. Advising and informing citizens, companies, and other departments on all legal questions within the scope of duties.

Requirements

Completed degree as Dipl.-Verwaltungswirt*in (FH) or Bachelor of Arts – Public Management or equivalent qualification. Sound knowledge of public law and confident application of legal provisions; legal knowledge in the relevant field is an advantage. Good MS Office skills and willingness to quickly master specialized applications (e.g., NAIS) and actively contribute to the digitalization of work processes. Interest in legal landscape and species protection topics and willingness to occasionally perform field duties. Independent, proactive, and service-oriented working style with the ability to handle complex matters in a structured manner. Confident demeanor, quick comprehension, networked thinking, teamwork, decisiveness, and organizational skills.

What We Offer

A responsible and varied role in an experienced team where you can work to preserve biological diversity and a nature-compatible way of living and doing business. Flexible models for mobile work and telework. Active participation in shaping and developing your own area of tasks and responsibility. Various further training and development opportunities.
