Specialist for School Social Work

The city administration of Viersen is looking for a specialist for the field of school social work in the Department of School, Education and Sports, Division Local Education Office, at the earliest possible date.

Advisory support for students, parents/guardians, and teachers at schools. Assistance in crisis and problem situations. Mediation of social skills. District work and municipal network work. Social group work, partly in cooperation with teachers or in collaboration with others and multiplier work, e.g. conflict mediation, social training. Parent work. Conflict counseling. Collegial, interdisciplinary counseling and cooperation with teachers and other specialists at the school site. Network work and cooperation with municipal and external institutions. Conceptual tasks. Documentation of pedagogical work.

Successfully completed degree (Dipl./B.A./M.A.) in Social Work or Social Pedagogy with state recognition or an equivalent degree with a pedagogical focus. Independent, self-reliant, and conscientious work. Friendliness, empathy, and teamwork. Flexibility, resilience, and initiative. Planning and organizational skills. Proficient user skills in common Office programs. Desirable: sound knowledge and practical experience in dealing with people with special support needs. Experience in the primary sector in the field of school social work in the areas of inclusion and integration in building and maintaining cooperation networks with the implementation and maintenance of social work offers and projects in cooperation with ASD and educational counseling centers.

Classification according to TVöD/SuE up to pay group S 12 with credit for professional experience and payment of SuE allowance.
