How mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical machines work; the basics of steel processing and the processes for forming steel; how to handle work and auxiliary materials and how to read and create technical drawings; correctly assessing the importance of occupational safety and environmental protection; planning and organizing work and evaluating work results.

School diploma; interest in steel processing and willingness to take responsibility; enjoyment of interdisciplinary and analytical work; desire to give your best as part of a team; willingness to discover new things and approach others openly.

During your training you receive an attractive remuneration (according to the collective agreement of the iron and steel industry NRW; as of 01.01.2026): €1,196.45 in the first year, €1,251.45 in the second year, €1,334.45 in the third year, €1,440.45 in the fourth year.
