Technical Application Owner - Finance & Tax Solutions Specialist

Take technical ownership of business-critical finance and tax applications at tk accelis GmbH in Essen, from selection and implementation through ongoing operation. Permanent, full-time position with hybrid working.

• Take overall technical responsibility for business-critical finance and tax applications used by individual departments throughout their lifecycle, including selection, implementation, transition, and operation
• Assess requirements with business departments and define the target architecture, prioritising SaaS or managed service provider options
• Plan and manage implementation, cutover, and intensive support after launch, ensuring a clear handover to operations with defined roles, processes, and support channels
• Ensure integration into the existing IT environment, including SSO/IAM, interfaces, data flows, roles and permissions, and technical documentation, while following technical and security requirements and the cloud-first strategy
• Build security and compliance into solutions from the start and maintain them, including GDPR-compliant processing, audit trails, logging, and access recertification, working closely with information security
• Manage external providers and internal stakeholders, oversee service level agreements and key performance indicators, and continuously improve service stability, performance, and user experience
• Establish and operate IT service management processes for incidents, problems, and changes, including escalation management and lasting fixes for root causes
• Manage releases and further development with business departments, including backlog prioritisation and coordination of testing and acceptance

• You have a degree in computer science, business information systems, business administration with an IT focus, or a comparable qualification with relevant practical experience
• You have several years of experience providing technical support for business applications in SaaS and/or managed service provider environments, from implementation and transition through operation
• You have a strong understanding of service excellence: you manage service level agreements and key performance indicators, ensure stable services, drive continuous improvement, and use structured IT service management processes for incidents, problems, and changes
• You have very good knowledge of identity and access management and single sign-on, preferably OIDC and, depending on the SaaS application, SAML, including connections to central identity providers, ideally Microsoft Entra ID
• You have experience with integration topics such as APIs, interfaces, and data flows, as well as operational basics such as monitoring, alerts, and traceable logging
• You apply security and compliance requirements pragmatically, ideally with experience in regulated environments such as GDPR and German GoBD accounting rules
• You work confidently with business departments and external service providers, covering coordination, clear communication, and structured documentation, and are confident using ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, or comparable tools
• You show strong initiative and the ability to get things done, and work constructively as part of a team, with humour and enjoyment of your work
• You have very good English skills
