Strategic Buyer / Category Buyer Technical Purchasing & MRO

Zott is looking for a strategic buyer for technical purchasing and MRO in Mertingen (north of Augsburg), starting as soon as possible. Full-time, permanent.

• Strategic responsibility for the MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) category, focusing on spare parts, mechanical and electrical components and technical services
• Developing and implementing sustainable category and supplier strategies to ensure cost efficiency, supply security and standardization
• Carrying out national and international tenders including market analyses, bid evaluations and award recommendations
• Negotiating and concluding supply, framework, maintenance and service contracts
• Continuously developing supplier management including performance evaluation and supplier development
• Identifying and realizing potential in C-parts management and in standardizing and bundling procurement volumes
• Analyzing purchasing, consumption and supplier data in SAP to derive optimization and savings measures
• Actively helping shape digitalization, automation and AI initiatives in purchasing
• Developing data-based solutions to increase transparency, efficiency and process quality
• Close cooperation with engineering, maintenance, production and engineering departments and regular presence at our production sites

• Successfully completed degree in business administration, industrial engineering or a comparable technical or commercial qualification
• Several years of professional experience in strategic purchasing of technical product groups, ideally in MRO, maintenance, spare parts or technical services
• Experience in developing and implementing category and supplier strategies
• Solid knowledge of contract management and of negotiating supply, framework and service contracts
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical, electrical or automation components
• Analytical strength and experience working with purchasing, procurement and supplier data
• Very good SAP skills, ideally SAP S/4HANA (MM), and confident use of relevant purchasing KPIs
• Solid Excel skills, especially in data analysis, reporting and evaluation
• Strong affinity for digitalization, process optimization, automation and AI-supported applications
• Fluent German and English as well as strong communication and negotiation skills
