Civil Engineer for Construction Material Investigations

We are seeking a civil engineer for construction material investigations to join our road construction and geotechnical engineering department as soon as possible.

• Manage construction material investigation works within the Southwest branch's area, including planning, tendering, commissioning, supervision, analysis and assessment
• Check and monitor contractors' work for quality, timing and cost
• Process contracts and invoices using internal electronic systems
• Independently handle questions relating to geotechnical engineering, road construction technology and material flow management, including monitoring, drone surveys, and laboratory and field tests
• Coordinate safety and health under RAB 30 during investigation works
• Advise employees throughout the Southwest branch on construction contracts, construction technology, environmental technology and contract variations relating to investigation works

• Completed degree (Dipl.-Ing. / bachelor's) in Civil Engineering, Applied Geosciences or a comparable subject, or a state-certified technician qualification in Construction Technology or Environmental Technology, or similar equivalent skills, which may have been gained through professional experience
• Several years of professional experience in road construction or a comparable position
• Training as a safety and health coordinator under RAB 30, including current refresher training to maintain professional knowledge, or willingness to obtain this qualification
• Extensive knowledge of construction technology, construction material investigations and all relevant types of road construction
• Good spoken and written German (CEF level C1)
• Category B driving licence and willingness to travel within the branch's area
• Knowledge of construction contract law and administrative law
• Confident use of standard Microsoft Office programs
• Willingness to work across disciplines with other departments
• Planning and organisational skills, with clear analytical thinking and sound judgement
