Apprenticeship – Precision Optician, Starting Autumn 2027

As a precision optician at ZEISS you make lenses, prisms, mirrors and other fine optical assemblies for high-performance optical and optoelectronic systems. You program and control CNC machines, robots and digital measuring devices. Training lasts 3.5 years, starting September 2027, vocational school in Aalen.

• Processing optical components with manual skill: lenses, prisms, mirrors
• Measuring, testing and manual and machine production of optical parts and components for high-performance optical systems, for example in semiconductor manufacturing for chip technology or medical technology
• Assembling and adjusting high-quality optical instruments made of mechanical, mechatronic and optical components
• Programming, controlling and monitoring CNC-controlled production systems and robots
• Setting up, programming and operating digital and classic measuring equipment for processing optical components
• Acquiring extensive knowledge of the latest technologies

• a very good Hauptschule, Realschule or higher school diploma
• Interest in mathematics, physics and modern technologies
• Interest in digital processes and pronounced manual skill
• Spatial and analytical thinking and enjoyment of precise work
