About this Apprenticeship
As an experienced backend developer, you work in a team on the design, development and maintenance of high-performance backend services for the Debeka website and member portal, using modern technologies and architectures. The Customer Services department is responsible for Debeka's web presence and member portal.
What You'll Learn
- Development of backend services for customer applications (online services, Debeka.de, customer portal) based on common and modern technologies (e.g. REST, Quarkus, containers, Kafka, Camunda, API management/gateway)
- Continuous further development of the existing backend architecture and infrastructure
- Contributing to the design and specification of APIs (OpenAPI)
- Use and expansion of the CI/CD software development process (gitops-like) including code reviews, security tests, automated tests, etc.
- Development of applications with high requirements for IT security and test automation
Requirements
- Programming experience in Java or comparable programming languages
- Experience in basic technologies and concepts of web development, e.g. HTTP, REST, SQL, authentication methods (e.g. OAuth)
- Knowledge of modern CI/CD processes and version control systems (git)
- Interest in and willingness to learn about using new technologies and methods
- Enjoyment of working in interdisciplinary teams
- Self-reliant and independent way of working as well as an agile mindset
- Ideally knowledge of using container environments (OpenShift, Docker)
- Knowledge and methods in IT security and in testing (unit tests, load tests, BDD)
