SOC Analyst – Expert Security Operations (BesGr A 12 HBesG / Pay grade 12 TV EntgO-TgDRV)

The German Pension Insurance is part of Germany's critical infrastructure and sets the highest security requirements for its IT systems. For the area "Operational Information Security", a SOC Analyst is wanted as soon as possible to work in the Security Operation Center (SOC). As part of the SOC, you are the link between in-house tasks and the regional and national parties involved.

• Independent analysis and assessment of security events and alerts
• Triage and prioritization of potential security incidents
• Analysis of complex, multi-stage attack scenarios
• Correlation of events from different security and log data
• Reconstruction of attack paths and timelines
• Establishing technical connections between user, system, network and security activities
• Research and assessment of attack techniques, indicators of compromise and technical anomalies
• Use and assessment of threat intelligence to enrich ongoing analyses
• Independent search execution and support of threat hunting activities
• Support in incident response, containment and follow-up of security incidents
• Traceable documentation of analyses, decisions and measures
• Identification and assessment of false positives
• Professional assessment of existing detection rules and use cases
• Identification of detection gaps and missing telemetry data
• Derivation of requirements for additional or improved security and log data
• Professional contribution to developing and optimizing detection and kill chain use cases

• Successfully completed degree in computer science (B.Sc.) or a comparable degree with an IT focus, with at least three years of IT work experience
• Good knowledge and several years of experience in the described areas of work
• Structured and results-oriented way of thinking and working, independent yet team-oriented, with a strong service orientation
• Willingness to work outside regular working hours (on-call duty)
• Confident manner, strong argumentation skills
• Good German skills, spoken and written
