Factory Development Engineer

As a Factory Development Engineer (m/f/d), you will play a key role in the further development of our Ennepetal site. You will develop future-proof factory structures, layouts, and material flows and accompany your concepts from analysis and conception to implementation in ongoing operations. In doing so, you combine strategic factory development with concrete implementation and work closely with production, logistics engineering, industrial engineering, and plant management.

• Analysis of existing structures and development of hall, area, layout, and production concepts in line with the site master plan
• Design and optimization of production structures, material flows, and industrial value streams
• Development and evaluation of variants based on benefit, efficiency, and feasibility
• Planning and implementation of production relocations, consolidations, and reorganizations – also in brownfield
• Translation of the product complexity strategy into concrete production and factory structures
• Support of projects from conception to realization
• Coordination with production areas, plant management, and engineering as well as moderation of workshops
• Management-appropriate preparation and presentation of complex concepts
• Ensuring that projects and investments contribute to the future factory target image

• Degree in mechanical engineering, production engineering, industrial engineering, or a comparable technical field
• Several years of experience in factory planning, factory development, industrial engineering, or a comparable function
• Experience in planning and implementing production or hall concepts
• Very good understanding of production processes, material flows, and value streams
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as high self-initiative and implementation strength
• Confident demeanor, assertiveness, and very good communication and moderation skills
• Ability to bring together different interests and present complex matters convincingly at management level
• Independent, structured, and results-oriented way of working
• Very good knowledge of SAP and MS Office
• Negotiation-proficient German skills and very good English skills
• Advantageous: Experience with brownfield projects, product complexity reduction and production relocations, CAD/layout tools, high-variety series production with high vertical integration, or international plant networks
