Working Student Smart Metering, Energy Data & Digitalization

Help us shape the digital infrastructure of the energy transition. Smart metering systems connect the energy industry, digitalization, and modern IT. As the smart-meter rollout expands, large amounts of metering and energy data are generated every day and must be processed reliably, analyzed, and made available for energy-industry processes. As a working student, you will support our Metering & Control team in developing the processes and systems around smart metering systems.

• Gain insights into smart metering systems, smart meter gateways and the processing of measurement and energy data
• Support questions around the smart meter rollout and the reliable operation of measurement data processes
• Analyze large amounts of measurement data, detect anomalies, patterns and connections, and systematically identify causes
• Further develop analyses and reports on measurement value and process quality
• Support the analysis and automation of manual processes and develop new approaches for more efficient and scalable processes
• Actively contribute your own ideas to improve our work through data analysis and modern digital tools
• Work at the interface of energy economics, IT and digitalization and collaborate with internal departments and partners

• Enrolled student of computer science, business informatics, data science, industrial engineering, energy economics, electrical engineering or a comparable degree program
• Interest in data, digital technologies and the energy transition
• An analytical way of working and the wish to truly understand connections
• A structured and independent way of working and a wish to contribute your own ideas
• Ideally first experience with Python, SQL, Power BI, Excel or other analysis tools
• No prior knowledge of smart metering or the energy sector is needed
