Backend & Platform Engineer (AI-Native)

In this hybrid role combining backend development and operations engineering, you are responsible for building, scaling and reliably running a lean, dependable backend and integration framework for the cloud-native digital platform. At the same time, you establish agentic software engineering in the team and use AI agents productively.

• You develop powerful and scalable backend services with Kotlin and Spring Boot
• You design and implement modern APIs and integrations with REST, GraphQL and OpenAPI
• You shape the expansion of our cloud-native platform on AWS and drive its further development
• You automate infrastructure, deployments and operational processes with GitLab CI/CD and OpenTofu
• You use modern coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or comparable tools to take development, testing and automation to a new level
• Together with the team, you establish AI-native engineering practices and actively shape the future way of developing software
• You work closely with product management, architecture and operations in an agile, interdisciplinary environment

• Several years of experience in developing and operating modern backend systems
• Solid knowledge of Kotlin and Spring Boot
• Experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures
• Confident use of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code
• Good knowledge of modern API and integration standards, especially REST, GraphQL, OpenAPI and OAuth 2.0
• An AI-native mindset and the motivation to fundamentally advance software development through targeted use of AI
• Hands-on experience with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or comparable AI-assisted development tools
• A high degree of ownership, pragmatism and quality awareness
• Very good German and English skills
