IT System Administrator

KUKA is a global automation group with about 14,000 employees. For its site in Bremen, it is looking for an IT System Administrator (f/m/d).

• Administration, maintenance and monitoring of virtual or physical Windows and Linux servers, including patch management, backup management and performance optimization
• Operation and optimization of virtualization environments (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox)
• Administration and support of enterprise storage and backup systems (e.g. NetApp, Data-Core, Veeam)
• Administration and support of central infrastructure services such as file services, DFS, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory and group policies
• Monitoring the state of the IT infrastructure and proactively fixing problems with performance, availability and security
• Identifying and implementing automation opportunities
• Evaluating and implementing new technologies, security measures and cost optimizations
• Implementing and enforcing security standards and best practices in system operations
• Maintaining and updating system documentation, operating manuals and configuration documentation
• Assessing new technologies and contributing to technical decisions
• Working with the Security Operations Center (SOC) to respond to and resolve security incidents
• Regularly reviewing system logs, alerts and identified vulnerabilities
• Ensuring compliance with IT policies, data protection requirements and audit specifications
• Participating in IT infrastructure projects and supporting system upgrades and migrations
• Taking on 2nd and 3rd level support for escalated incidents and service requests

• Completed IT vocational training, a degree in computer science, or a comparable qualification or work experience
• More than three years of work experience as an IT system administrator, IT infrastructure administrator, infrastructure architect or in a comparable position
• Sound knowledge of Windows and/or Linux server environments
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox)
• Experience administering Windows file servers
• Solid understanding of basic network technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
• Knowledge of cloud architecture principles and patterns is an advantage
• Knowledge of VDI solutions (VMware Horizon, Azure Virtual Desktop)
• Knowledge of scripting, automation and Infrastructure as Code (PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform) is an advantage
• IT security and ITIL processes are a matter of course for you
• Business-fluent English, spoken and written
