Technical License Manager

TKMS ATLAS ELEKTRONIK is a company of the TKMS Group and supports navies worldwide with comprehensive sensor and electronics solutions. As Technical License Manager, you develop the technical license strategy for engineering platforms and coordinate the departments involved.

• Developing a technical license strategy for engineering platforms and ensuring cost-optimized implementation of architecture decisions (e.g. CPU sizing, virtualization)
• Central contact person from engineering: coordinating architecture, IT asset management, purchasing, vendor management and legal to align license strategies, contract content and technical operating models
• Assessing complex vendor models, deriving technical guidelines for operation in on-premise and hybrid scenarios, and supporting strategic technology changes (e.g. Broadcom/VMware transition) by analyzing technical alternatives and defining migration paths
• Managing the technical integration of SAM tools into the engineering landscape, proactively identifying savings potential through "right-sizing" and consolidation of tool silos, and advising product, project and platform teams as early as the offer/design phase to avoid cost traps
• Establishing a technical license catalog in close cooperation with key stakeholders, setting clear guidelines for legally compliant software use and ensuring compliance with export control requirements for international customer projects

• Successfully completed degree in computer science, natural sciences or engineering, or a comparable qualification
• Many years of experience in software asset management, IT architecture, infrastructure engineering or similar technology-related roles, as well as a deep understanding of how hardware resources (cores, sockets, RAM) interact with software licensing law
• Confident handling of modern cloud-native environments and sound knowledge of license models in dynamic container clusters
• Assertiveness to enforce compliance standards against resistance within projects and strong analytical ability to translate complex vendor EULAs properly for different stakeholders
• Good German and English skills in speech and writing, and willingness to make occasional national and international business trips
