High School Graduate Program - Retail Trade Specialist

At OBI, an exciting career start awaits you, in which you obtain three qualifications within just three years: the shortened training as a retail merchant, the subsequent further training as a retail trade specialist, and the trainer aptitude certificate according to AEVO. In the end, you reach exactly the same level as with a bachelor's degree (Level 6 according to the European Qualifications Framework). The framework conditions: You work five days a week in various shifts within our opening hours (Monday to Saturday). During your three training years, you attend ten two-week seminars at an education center, which ideally complement your practical training and prepare you comprehensively for the exams.

Trade knowledge - You familiarize yourself intensively with the areas of sales, assortment, and processes to build broad trade knowledge; Customer advice - Competent advice to our customers on-site in the store and processing of digital customer inquiries; Operational support - You actively support our department heads in daily tasks and contribute directly to the store's success; Further training - Use the diverse further training opportunities offered by OBI to continuously expand your knowledge; Contribute ideas - Actively bring in your own ideas, because we meet at eye level and value your opinion; Independent working style - You work independently on your tasks while maintaining close exchange with store management; Practical projects - You gain valuable experience during our trainee project week or in our two-week trainee store

You have successfully completed your (technical) high school diploma by the start of training; You are open, committed, actively approach people and shine together as a team; Gradually you take on more responsibility, are assertive and ambitious; You are open to assignments in various stores in your region; You have a great enthusiasm for retail; ideally you already have initial experience (part-time job/internship)

Attractive pay - Graduated remuneration: €1,280 (months 1-12), €1,425 (from month 13), €2,400 (from approx. month 19; after passing the IHK exam as retail merchant) plus pro-rata holiday and Christmas bonuses; Cost coverage for further training - We cover all costs for your training and further education at the BZE in Springe (including travel, accommodation, and meals); Mobility bonus - Receive up to €30 net per month, graduated according to your commute.
