Automation Engineer at 42watt (by OBI) in Munich. You build and run n8n automations and connect CRM, support tools, email and calendar into workflows.

• You build and run our n8n automations and connect CRM, customer support tools, email and calendar into seamless workflows, from AI-based ticket classification and intelligent escalation routing to automatic notifications for critical events.
• You develop automation logic and workflow rules in our support tool and ensure our escalation model is technically mapped cleanly and information is reliably synchronized between systems.
• You integrate AI building blocks into our automations where they create real time savings and added value. At the same time you consider data protection and data minimization from the start: which data may be sent to a model and which may not is part of good design for you.
• You build with security and quality awareness instead of the "ship and pray" principle: new flows are first tested inactive, checked with realistic test cases and equipped with deduplication logic, fallbacks and error handling before going live.
• You work closely with Operations and Customer Success, translate operational pain points into concrete, robust automations and communicate proactively and transparently where a flow stands and why something may take longer.
• You naturally use AI tools such as Claude or Cursor as leverage to build faster, try new solutions and implement things you might not have developed without these tools.

• You already have experience with workflow automation, ideally with n8n, Zapier or Make, or you come from backend development with a strong focus on APIs and system integrations.
• You are confident with REST APIs and webhooks, read and debug JSON payloads directly and quickly find the cause when an integration flow does not do what it should.
• Experience with the Zoho ecosystem (CRM, Desk) is a big plus. Deluge scripting is not a must; your willingness to learn quickly and independently matters more.
• You have a good sense of how to robustly integrate AI building blocks such as classification or text generation into productive workflows, while knowing where the limits of automation lie and which decisions are better left to humans.
• You have solid knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript or Python to develop custom code nodes when needed.
• You work in a structured and security-conscious way: you think of test cases before activation, fallbacks for errors and good traceability so others can later understand and maintain your flows easily.
• You communicate proactively and clearly, even when something takes longer or does not go as planned. Operations and Customer Success can rely on you as a dependable partner.
• You like using AI tools such as Claude and Cursor as productivity boosters to work faster, try new solutions and achieve better results.
• You have very good German and English skills (at least C1).
