Apprenticeship as Retail Salesperson

Are you interested in retail and want to inspire people? Then start your apprenticeship at Thalia. In your apprenticeship as a retail salesperson (m/f/d), you will learn how successful retail works – from personal consulting and product presentation to checkout and merchandise management. You will get to know our diverse assortment and develop a feel for what excites our customers – from books and games to gift ideas. You will also gain insights into economic contexts and learn how assortment, sales, and key figures interact. Together with your team, you ensure that every visit to Thalia becomes a special experience.

Advise customers: You find the right books, games, gift ideas, and more – and convince with your personal advice. Share your book tips: You discover new titles, write your own recommendations, and share your personal book tips. Shape our assortments: You present our products creatively and create an atmosphere that invites browsing and discovery. Create special experiences: You support events such as readings and ensure unforgettable moments with your team. Shape the book trade: You gain insights into sales, checkout, goods receipt, and the processes behind the scenes.

You have at least a secondary school diploma (Hauptschulabschluss) or are about to graduate. You have good to very good German language skills and communicate confidently in German, both orally and in writing. You need this for advising our customers and for vocational school lessons. You enjoy approaching people and take pleasure in advising them personally. You are interested in retail, books, digital offerings, and diverse thematic worlds.

Fair apprenticeship remuneration: €1,140 in the first, €1,260 in the second, and €1,410 gross in the third apprenticeship year, plus holiday and Christmas bonuses.
