Enterprise Architect

R+V, one of Germany's largest insurers, is looking for an Enterprise Architect in its Operations and IT division. The aim is to improve processes and technical foundations so that customer requests can be handled faster, more efficiently and more digitally.

• Developing and planning our company-wide, future-proof IT strategy and IT architecture landscape in line with our business goals and our "Next Level" strategy.
• You analyze business strategies, identify business and technical requirements and advise management up to board level on new IT options, architecture visions and risks.
• Shaping the strategic and technical direction of artificial intelligence – especially generative AI – at company level. You develop target pictures, reference architectures and guardrails for safe, scalable and economical use of AI.
• You ensure the integration of AI solutions into our existing IT landscape and support relevant AI initiatives from idea to implementation. You advise departments, management and the board on potential, risks and suitable uses.
• You evaluate and select innovative technologies, make architecture decisions at company level and ensure compatibility and integration of our IT systems.
• Developing standards, guidelines and reference architectures is part of your remit. You ensure compliance and shape architecture governance processes, e.g. regarding technical debt and KPIs.
• In your work you create IT architecture requirements for security, data protection and compliance at company level and continuously adapt them to changing requirements.
• You continuously monitor and assess market trends and derive concrete recommendations and measures.
• Close collaboration with other architects, managers and departments is part of the role, as is promoting development and collaboration within the Enterprise Architecture department.
• Together with relevant stakeholders you establish standards for AI governance, data quality, data protection, information security and regulatory requirements, for example in the context of the EU AI Act.

• Completed university degree (Diplom/Master), ideally in computer science, business informatics or similar, plus additional qualification in enterprise and application architecture and sound knowledge of architecture methods and frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman).
• At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in IT architecture, enterprise architecture, solution architecture or a similar field – experience at large financial service providers is welcome.
• Experience designing and implementing complex IT landscapes, standardization, governance and architecture management.
• Strong leadership, communication and consulting skills – you are an empathetic sparring partner for managers and stakeholders.
• Entrepreneurial thinking, change management and the ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
• Fluent German (at least level B2); English skills are an advantage.
