Internship in Materials Testing and Failure Analysis of Polymer Parts

Internship at Schaeffler in materials testing and failure analysis of polymer parts. The position starts on 1 March 2027 and lasts 6 months.

• Support materials testing using standardized test methods for plastics and elastomers
• Assist with chemical and thermal materials analysis according to test specifications
• Assist with microscopic examination of damaged parts using light and scanning electron microscopes
• Help prepare test samples for the relevant procedures
• Help develop test methods for specific analyses, verify the reliability of their results, and document the methods as specifications for Schaeffler worldwide
• Support specialists in the Polymer Materials department in preparing investigation reports

• Proof of university enrollment during the internship
• Studies in Plastics Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering with a focus on Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Materials Engineering, or a comparable subject
• Experience working on projects, such as coursework or university projects, is desirable
• Good spoken and written German and English
• Confident use of MS Office
• Ability to work in a team and independently
