Embedded Software Engineer

In Missile Warning Engineering, you develop reliable embedded software for electro-optical missile warning systems. You work across disciplines throughout the software development cycle, from specification and design to implementation, testing and documentation.

• Specify, design and develop software for embedded systems, including contributions to software architecture and detailed software design
• Implement software in C/C++ using a model-driven approach
• Develop Special To-Type Test Equipment (STTE), including custom PC-based test systems that reproduce all relevant interfaces and functions of the embedded system, enabling comprehensive communication, control and monitoring during integration and verification
• Carry out hardware and software integration activities
• Take responsibility for preparing software development documentation
• Verify and validate software, define test procedures and document test results at software and system level
• Work closely with systems engineering, hardware and firmware development, and algorithm development teams

• Completed degree in engineering or computer science, or a comparable qualification
• Professional experience as a software engineer on complex embedded software projects
• Very good knowledge of C/C++ programming languages
• Experience developing software with Visual Studio, MFC or Qt, as well as LabVIEW
• Knowledge of network programming, serial interfaces (RS422, RS485), bus systems and avionics interfaces (MIL-Bus, ARINC-429) is an advantage
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in international and diverse teams
• Business-fluent English and German
